Redacted Memories
The precursor to my final degree project, ‘Redacted Memories’ is a reader that aims to invoke the sense of fading memories. Through the use of redaction of chosen texts, key excerpts are revealed with a broad focus of memory but each with differing topics and directions. Created by redacting printed typeset text using a wide nib marker, then scanned and digitally overlayed on to the original text for the final product. Hand bound using a coptic stitch creating a lie-flat book, aiming to emulate stacks of redacted documents.
